WHAT IS SHIBASHI-18 FORMTAI CHI?
Shibashi Tai Chi Qigong is a series of 18 energy enhancing exercises, coordinating movement with breathing and intention. Based on Yang style tai chi, it was developed in 1982 by Dr. Lin Hou Shen and Master Wei Qi He. Recognizing the health benefits of Tai Chi, they developed eighteen exercises that are easy to learn and practice. Shibashi offers many of the benefits of Tai Chi but can be learned in a relatively short time.
The 18 Exercises of Tai Chi Qigong (Chi Kung) Shibashi are one of the most popular systems of Qigong and are widely practiced around the world. What appears flowing and effortless on the outside is a result of cultivating deep relaxation on the inside.
Shibashi stimulates blood and lymph circulation while utilizing all the major muscles joints, and ligaments - increasing flexibility and muscle tone. The major internal organs are massaged and refreshed as are the meridian energies, calming the mind and body and reducing stress while creating a state of positive wellbeing.
